The Bellwether – Hand-Painted Billboard Print | Los Angeles Music & Comedy Venue| 90s Alt Revival
from $175.00
This is a museum-quality, framed fine art print of The Bellwether, a hand-painted billboard mural designed and painted by Craft Ads to honor one of Los Angeles’ most storied performance venues.
Formerly known as Glam Slam West, once owned by Prince himself throughout the ’80s and ’90s, The Bellwether is a landmark reborn. Following a visit to this beautiful venue, we envisioned a mural that would speak to the eclectic heart of Echo Park’s music and comedy scene. Inspired by tent revival posters of the 1920s–30s and infused with the grunge sensibility of the 1990s, this piece features vibrant, hand-painted portraits of the featured acts and reflects the venue’s rich, inclusive cultural energy.
Painted by hand in our Pasadena studio and now available as a framed print, The Bellwether is both a tribute to LA nightlife history and a bold art statement in its own right. The specific frame was chosen to compliment the print. The black stain over a fine maple wood grain makes this frame timeless and versatile.
